Cancel an AI app subscription: where to look and what to press
Deleting an app does not cancel its subscription. The store bills you until you cancel in the store's own subscription list. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Cancel a free trial before it ends, because it turns into a paid plan by default.
AI apps often start with a free trial and then charge every week. The billing belongs to the store, not to the app, so the cancel button is not inside the app either. Once you know where the list is, it takes about a minute.

On iPhone
Open Settings and tap your name at the top. Tap Subscriptions. Every active and expired subscription is listed. Tap the one you want to stop, then tap Cancel Subscription. If you do not see a Cancel button, the subscription is already cancelled and shows an end date instead.
On Android
Open the Google Play app and tap your profile picture. Tap Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Choose the subscription and tap Cancel subscription, then follow the steps. Make sure you are signed in to the same Google account that was billed, because each account has its own list.
Deleting the app does not cancel it
The subscription is a contract between you and the store. Removing the app from your phone removes the icon and nothing else. The next charge still happens on the renewal date, so cancel first and delete the app afterwards, if you want to.
How free trials really work
A free trial normally converts to a paid plan at the end, using the payment method on your account. Stores advise cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you cancel during a trial, you usually keep access until the trial period is over, so there is no reason to wait.
If you cannot find it
A subscription may be billed to another account, a family member's account or a different store, such as the web or a carrier. Search your email for a receipt from the store. It names the account and the date. A charge under the app's own name may be a direct purchase from the service's website. Its support page explains how to cancel.
Asking for a refund
Refunds are decided by the store, not by the app. Both stores have a refund request form for a purchase, and both accept requests for accidental or unrecognised charges. Ask soon after the charge, say clearly that you did not mean to subscribe, and keep the receipt.
Questions about the app
Will I lose access immediately after cancelling?
Usually not. Access normally continues until the end of the period you already paid for.
Can I cancel from a computer?
Yes. Both stores let you manage subscriptions from an account page in a browser, with the same account you paid with.
Does uninstalling stop the trial charge?
No. The trial converts to a paid plan unless you cancel the subscription itself.
How do I avoid the problem in future?
Use a chat that works in the browser and needs no subscription to start. Otherwise, set a reminder on the day you start a trial.
Check your subscription list today. The free chat opened from this page has nothing to cancel; a paid plan can be cancelled at any time.
